All fans deserve a community club to be proud of and last week the Swindon Town Supporters Trust reached out to us for some guidance having recently launched a boycott against their current owner. We were happy to help and have the following message of support to STFC fans
Football club owners are not just running a business. They are custodians of institutions that thousands of people hold dear.
As such, it is part of the job of Supporters Trusts and others to hold them to account and to challenge them to deliver the highest possible standards of stewardship.
At Blackpool ST, these are cherished principles . We were prepared to take concerted action to highlight the shortcomings of our club's previous owners, and build momentum for change. Our fight was a long one, and could not have been fought without the support of an overwhelming majority of our supporters.
But these are fights that are worth having, and they can be won when you stand together. We wish you well and we will continue to support your Trust wherever we can."
