Burton Albion Away
For the first time we have sponsored a mascot at an away match. Over 20% of our members live outside of the North-west. We wanted to give our members who are exiles, and may find it more difficult to get to Bloomfield Rd, the opportunity to nominate a family member as a Mascot. We hope to repeat this later in the season so look out for notifications.
Our mascot for the Burton away match was Anna Day, age 9. This is a letter received from Anna's Mum and Dad
Hi there
We just wanted to send a HUGE thank you from Anna Day and all of our family for the wonderful opportunity you gave us which was Anna’s Mascot experience for the Burton V BFC on Boxing Day.
Anna loved every minute of representing the Tangerine Army and wore her full kit (a Christmas present from Nanny and Grandad) with pride! She even remembered to put her boots and shin pads on just in case Mr Critchley gave the call!
Speaking of our lovely manager - and all the players and staff in fact - what a warm welcome we all received! Anna loved meeting the players in the changing rooms and she said that her new best mate Jimmy (Husbands) and the manager were so kind and nice to her!
The icing on the cake was the lap of honour where true to form the travelling barmy army gave her a big applause as she walked past!
Thanks too to the Burton staff who were all extremely friendly and helpful and included her big sister (also a Blackpool fan and budding goalkeeper) so she could look on to the players warming up!
Anna can’t wait to tell her football team about her experience and despite the result said she had the BEST day.
We love our club and despite living in Manchester where everyone supports a premiership club (mainly red or blue of origin)Anna is developing the family tradition of sticking with your home team through thick and thin and being a Seasider for life! There’s no place like Bloomfield Road and no better set of fans to be heard in full voice.
Thanks once again. We hope everyone has as good an experience as us.
With best regards
Kirsty and Christian (Anna’s mum and dad)
We would like to thanks the staff at Burton for facilitating this and looking after Anna on the day.
Bristol Rovers
Prior to the Burton game our mascot for Bristol Rovers at home was Luca, here pictured with his Dad Dean. Dean said he only told Luca on the day of the game as he would have been too excited. As we know it was a great result for Pool and we are told Luca had a fantastic time.
